About

THE DISTRICT is located inside the historic Memorial Hall in downtown Richmond, IL. A quintessential small town in the heart of Illinois.

Over 115 years of history are detailed in these walls. The grandson of William McConnell, the original founder of Richmond, donated $10,000 to build Memorial Hall in 1907. The space has been a village hall, a library, a police station (with jail cells in the basement!), a community center, and, believe it or not, a basketball court.

THE DISTRICT is built on family values and strong roots. We are dedicated to providing you with a beautiful timeless space to bring your vision to life. We are centrally located just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva and 20 minutes from the historic Woodstock Square.

Renovations

Renovations on Memorial Hall began in April 2021.

The space was purchased from the Village of Richmond converting the public space to private for the first time since it was built in 1907.

Memorial Hall is currently under construction and is scheduled to open September 17th of 2022. It is undergoing extensive renovations to bring the building back to life while maintaining its historical significance to downtown Richmond, Illinois.
